Event Summary

The standardization process includes steps to ensure a robust process with limited complexity, but perhaps the most misunderstood is the appeals process. During this presentation we will explore the purpose of an appeal and the forms it might take.

Attendees will gain a better understanding of appeals, be able to seek out and learn more about the appeals process used by the SDOs they work with, and enhance the appeals process at their organization.

Lisa Spellman

Lisa Spellman, MBA, AStd is the Executive Director of Exchangewell Global Digital Consortia with SAE Industry Technologies Consortia (SAE ITC®). Lisa is a broadly skilled executive w/20+ years of global experience in international business, operations, technology, education, and standards.
As Executive Director of Exchangewell, she is responsible for developing and maintaining critical relationships with a wide range of organizations across multiple global sectors, including Aerospace, Automotive, Ground Vehicle, Naval, and Space, to create and advance transformative technologies.

Lisa has done extensive work in international and domestic standards development, adoption, and assessment collaborating with a range of SDOs, including ASTM, ISO, IEEE, ITU, DICOM, SAE, and many others. She has worked with a wide range of entity types worldwide, including for-profit, non-profit, NGOs, associations, and governmental, ranging from small-medium-sized entities (SMEs) to Fortune 50 multi-nationals in over 25 nations.
She is on the SES Board of Directors, Educational Council Director, and is the moderator for SES Annual Global Webinar Series. Lisa served on United States National Committee (USNC/ANSI) for Rules & Procedures and Finance Committees.

Lisa completed her undergraduate studies with highest honors, including Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude. She holds an MBA in International Relations and Marketing and is certified as a Standards Professional (AStd) from the International Society for Standards Professionals and is Board Chair of the Global SES Education Committee.
