This Notice explains how the Women in Standards, Inc. collects and processes your Personal Data. Each time you use our Site, the current version of this Notice will apply. What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you submit a request through the provided contact us form, we will keep this information for up to 6 months for customer service purposes, but we do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes unless requested by you.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Information is collected to assist Women in Standards to better understand user activities such as where you were before you came to our website, which pages and posts you visits, and information on you such as your geolocation and the type of device you are using (e.g. desktop, mobile, tablet). This information is not sold to third-parties and is not associated with personally identifiable information in our systems. Who we share your data with
As listed above and in our cookie consent agreement, cookies collect information and share that information with the tools and services we use to run our site. Your information is not sold by Women in Standards to third-parties.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Women in Standards uses security features as applicable and staff also follow security recommended practices to protect data of our customers.
What data breach procedures we have in place
Women in Standards has internal reporting systems and a plan for communication of potential breaches to customers.
What third parties we receive data from
Women in Standards uses data from Mailchimp, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Hootsuite to offer customers quality service. These tools do not currently integrate with the Women in Standards website to ensure security of the site and its data.
Correction and removal
If any of the information that we have about you is incorrect, or you wish to have information (including Personal Data) removed from our records, you may do so by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Additionally, if you prefer not to receive marketing messages from us, please let us know by clicking on the unsubscribe link within any marketing message that you receive or by emailing email@example.com.
Your European Rights

FOR RESIDENTS OF CALIFORNIA ONLY. If you reside in California and have provided your Personal Data to Women in Standards , you may request information about our disclosures of certain categories of Personal data to third parties for direct marketing purposes.
