Navigating Change in Times of Uncertainty
On September 24, 2020, the Women in Standards welcomed Mary Lou Meddaugh, author of “Navigating 5 Life Changes,” An Odyssey of Resiliency and Hope who shared her experience as well as insights on navigating through personal growth and change. Mary Lou provided attendees with a thought provoking presentation on identifying a vision for change and moving through the process of developing a plan, executing, and measuring progress.
Change is a frequent hurdle for many and how we approach the world changing around us in addition to the changes we’d like to make ourselves determines our success. Mary Lou provided thoughtful advice for creating a vision of the change so that those moving through the process can see and be motivated by how that change will benefit their lives.
Attendees also received guidance on developing an achievable plan and ways to reduce the change to management steps to allow for easy pivoting and frequent celebrations of small successes.
Mary Lou’s presentation included real life examples of personal challenges and her approach to seeing a positive result and the discussion engaged the audience in thinking of changes they’d like to make in their lives and how to effectively develop a vision and plan for execution.
The Women in Standards thanks Mary Lou for her comprehensive presentation and thoughtful suggestions for embracing the changes we’d all like to make in our lives. To view the full recording, press play in the player above.
