The International Standards Organization (ISO) in coordination with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) recently announced the publication of ISO/IEC 17029, Conformity assessment – General principles and requirements for validation and verification bodies. This standard establishes general principles for the impartial, competent, and consistent performance of validation and/or verification activities.
The standard is applicable to any sector performing validation and/or verification activities and may also be combined with sector-specific standards. ISO CASCO has published to their resource page a set of slides to help explain the key elements of the standard, the slides are freely available on the ISO CASCO resources page, click here.
