Join the Women in Standards for a panel lead workshop on Engaging Stakeholders, Lessons Learned from Member Onboarding and Retention.

During this panel presentation our esteemed speakers will discuss the processes their organizations use to welcome and retain new participants to the standards development process, new approaches or programs they are pursuing or considering, and lessons learned in their efforts to create a welcoming and supportive process for new members. Attendees will gain insight on the onboarding process, hurdles faced, if any, and ideas for improving or incorporating new ideas into their programs.

Sara Desautels

ANSI

Ms. Sara Desautels is the Director of ISO P-membership Services at The American National Standards Institute (ANSI). She holds management oversight of the ANSI ISO Team that facilitates the work of all ANSI-accredited U.S. Technical Advisory Groups (U.S. TAGs) and ANSI-delegated U.S. held ISO Secretariats.  Having been with ANSI for over 21 years, she has extensive knowledge and strategic awareness of the ISO standards development process and oversees a portfolio of multiple programs and projects important to ANSI’s mission and strategy, with a focus on ensuring a strong and effective U.S. voice in international standardization.

 

 

 

 

Lisa Trofe

JPMA

Lisa Trofe is the Managing Director for the Juvenile Product Manufacturers Association (JPMA). In this role, she oversees the trade association’s membership and product safety programming, including the certification program, which certifies 2,200+ juvenile products in 29 product categories annually. Lisa actively engages with CPSC, ASTM, ANSI and ISO to support the juvenile product industry and is responsible for much of the association’s regulatory and legislative agenda. Serving as an industry spokesperson, she has spoken at national conferences including The JPMA Show, ICPHSO and ICE, as well as testifying before Congressional committees and appearing on national and local media outlets. Lisa serves on the ICPHSO Program Planning Committee, is a Certified Association Executive and holds a graduate certificates in Product Safety Management and Advanced Product Safety Management from the John Cook School of Business at St. Louis University.

JPMA is the voice of quality and safety for the juvenile products industry, the North American trade association representing 95% of baby product manufacturers selling into the United States. JPMA provides regulatory support, advocacy efforts and education to the industry as a whole and is the founder and sponsor of Baby Safety Month, an annual effort each September which educates caregivers about the safe selection and use of baby products for their children’s ever-changing ages and stages.

Katerina Koperna

ASTM

Katerina Koperna has been a Technical Committee Operations Manager at ASTM International for nearly 10 years. She manages five technical committees including Soil & Rock, Amusement Rides and Devices, Commercial Spaceflight, Quality & Statistics, and Polishes. In addition to her main role, Katerina oversees the organizations’ Emerging Professionals Program and serves as the ASTM representative on ANSI’s ISO Council and ANSI’s ISO Forum. Katerina has a master’s degree in Organizational Development & Leadership from St. Joseph’s University, and a bachelor’s in Mass Media Communications from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to ASTM she worked at the American Red Cross as their Director of Events, as well as the National Constitution Center as part of their fundraising and events team. She currently lives just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is married and the proud mama of two boys: Keanen and Harrison.
