Description of Standards Developed
AIM develops standards for the automatic identification industry and end users of automatic identification & data capture (AIDC) technologies. AIM serves as the secretariat for the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 31 | Automatic Identification and Data Capture Techniques. This group formulates the U.S. position on all work elated to the standardization of data formats, data syntax, data structures, data encoding, and technologies for the process of automatic identification and data capture and of associated devices utilized in inter-industry applications and international business interchanges and for mobile applications.
Public Comment Options
Periodically, AIM announces a Notice of Public Review for proposed standards and guidelines. Public review documents are available as a download for review purposes only.
